Mike Perkins, Ed.S., is a graduate of Kennesaw State University, the University of West Georgia and Wayne State University. He is currently the principal of a Title 1 elementary school serving almost 700 students in metro Atlanta. He began his career 18 years ago as a middle school teacher and high school coach, and then transitioned into middle school administration. He has been an invite speaker, keynote speaker or conference presenter at more than 25 national, state and local venues. His speaking experience includes teachers, counselors, social workers, parents, and administrators – elementary through college. He has authored a book for young adults on AD/HD and is the co-creator of an animated video on executive functioning deficits. Mike uses his experience as an educator and a parent of a child with a disability to help others understand how to motivate children and teens to invest in strategies that reduce stress and conflict, and promote independence and self-esteem.
