Dr. Billie Abney, an award winning science teacher, instructs high school classes in anatomy, physics, chemistry, and forensics in Georgia. Currently she is teaching at The Career Academy and will soon be teaching honors science related classes through a local college. As an adult with ADHD, Dr. Abney has developed several creative teaching strategies to actively engage her students. As the result of her innovative teaching approach in science, Dr. Abney was the recipient of the Georgia Teacher of Promise Award in 2009 and the National CHADD Educator of the Year in 2013. Abney was a chiropractor for 20 years and then decided to return to the classroom. She presents nationally and internationally on effective teaching strategies for students with ADHD and Executive Function Deficits.
