Professional Organizer -

I help overwhelmed professional women with ADHD get organized and create a stress-free home and office. Many women play multiple roles as a wife, mother, and caregiver while holding down careers outside of the home. These women, however, still assume the heaviest workload at home. And women with ADHD are not exceptions. Chronic inattention, disorganization, and emotional instability make their every day life extremely challenging and chaotic. As a mother of a son with ADHD, I also understand how chaotic the life of parents can get. It is hard to feel good about parenting or yourself when you are constantly dealing with emotional outbursts, arguments, and misbehaviors. I often felt that I did not have the ability or capacity to help my son or family. As a Professional Organizer, I now help busy professionals, parents, and families whose life is impacted by ADHD and other brain-based conditions. It is possible to improve the quality of your life and spend more time on what you love. I am also a certified and licensed Sanity School™ Trainer, I am very excited to share what I have learned with parents of complex children in our community. I graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a BA in Communications and an MS in Human Resources and Industrial Relations. I earned Residential Organizing and Workplace Productivity Specialist Certificates from National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals (NAPO). I have also received Chronic Disorganization, ADHD Specialist, and Hoarding Specialist Certificates from Institute for Challenging Disorganization (ICD), a not-for-profit organization provides education and training to professional organizers and related professional who specialize in working with the chronically disorganized population.

Dr. Hanson is a former educator and regularly consults with schools concerning the learning challenges of his clients. In addition, he is respectful of the challenges AD/HD presents for many adult men and women after leaving the formal education setting, as they participate in the workplace and in meaningful personal and professional relationships. Education Specialist/Tutor - Educational Program

LearningRx in Naperville uses personal trainers and fun, challenging mental exercises to improve the skills the brain uses to learn and perform. The company works with clients of all ages who want to improve cognitive performance and, while LearningRx does not diagnose or treat ADHD, autism, or TBI, we have improved the cognitive performance of thousands with these diagnoses. For example, based on the before and after test results of 5,416 LearningRx clients with ADHD, broad attention skills improved an average of 24 percentile points, and IQ scores improved by an average of 15 standard points, following our program*. LearningRx brain training is different than tutoring in that tutoring works on re-teaching information that wasn't grasped the first time around, while LearningRx improves the core cognitive skills (memory, attention, visual processing, auditory processing, logic & reasoning and more) so that new information can be more easily grasped the first time it is presented. Trainers work one-on-one with clients in a fun, encouraging environment, doing interactive exercises that train core brain skills to work faster and more efficiently than before. *These results are based on past LearningRx clients, and results may vary. To learn more about research and results visit: www.learningrx.com/results.

Social Worker - Private Practice

I have a firm belief that our successes in life are based more on what we do today than what we did not do yesterday. I use this belief as a guidepost in my counseling and coaching work. I am inevitably focused on helping the folks I serve to take the actions and embrace the behaviors and thoughts that will give them the opportunity to feel more confident and competent in the way they live, work, laugh and play. I believe it is important to identify and understand our cognitive and emotional roadblocks and of equal importance is the ability to develop an action plan that involves new strategies and skills, which can lead to, desired goals and more favorable outcomes. Many professional adults and college students, who struggle with ADHD, know what it is like to just get by at the ring of the last bell. They learn strategies for avoidance and last minute scrambling that usually leads to frantic emotions, fear of failure, embarrassment and low self-esteem. ADHD does not have to be a life long sentence of disappointment and underachievement. A complimentary introductory phone session is available upon request.
