Counselor - Private Practice

Research supports that adults who are struggling with attention and focus issues benefit greatly from working with a skilled psychotherapist and a coach. I provide both of those services for adults. If you are on meds for ADD or ADHD, and are not in therapy, the meds are only a small part of the support that is needed. My background as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Board Certified Coach and Connecticut Certified Teacher and School Counselor, make me uniquely suited to work with you. Clients who struggle with attention and focus challenges often may have some related anxiety and/or depression, and as a licensed mental health professional, I will work with you to address those issues, and to feel like you are moving toward positive change. With a client’s signed consent, I create a team-approach, where I collaborate with your doctor or other professionals that you are working with, to provide you with the highest level of care and support. Attention and focus issues impact relationships in a dramatic way if the non-ADD or ADHD partner, or family member, is uninformed about how to communicate effectively with someone who is struggling with attention and focus issues. As part of our work, we can bring your family member(s) in to provide family awareness and tools for understanding. In addition, my coaching background enables me to work with you to develop and follow-through on manageable goals. I have both a Masters in Counseling and a Masters in Education, which is an excellent pairing for my work with you. Please bring any reports or neuropsychological testing with you to your appointment. For more information, you can either contact me by phone or text. Thank you.
