Frequently Asked Questions
The National
Resource Center on AD|HD
(NRC) provides answers to most of the
commonly asked questions about attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder.
ADHD is the most commonly diagnosed neurobehavioral disorder in
children. Although a child’s symptoms may change as he/she
gets
older, most individuals do not outgrow ADHD. In fact, for most
individuals with ADHD, symptoms continue into adulthood. It is
estimated that 4-6 percent of adults continue to face many of the
challenges of ADHD.
If you or someone you love has ADHD, you probably have many
questions. Our list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) addresses
many of these, which include questions such as:
• Is there a simple test to diagnose
ADHD?
• Can you help me find a summer camp for my
child?
• Can a woman with ADHD take stimulant
medication while pregnant?
