Your Child: The Elementary Years (K-5)
Your child may have had an assessment, and you need information and
help with multimodal treatment*,coping with co-occurring conditions,
educational issues, IDEA & Section 504, parent/school collaboration,
transition to middle school, homework, organizational skills, child care
issues/summer, camp, family relationships and social skills.
Your Child: The Adolescent Years - (The Transition
Years) (6th Grade - High School)
Your child may have had an assessment earlier or was able to cope
during the elementary years, but with increased demands symptoms may
become more obvious. You may need additional information and help with
increasing academic challenges, transition to middle school/high
school/college, self-esteem issues, dating, life management skills, peer
acceptance,time management, learning to drive, self-advocacy, possible
antisocial behaviors, teen pregnancy, and possible substance abuse.
*Multimodal treatment consists of parent and
child education about diagnosis & treatment, specific behavior
management techniques, stimulant medication, and appropriate school
programming and supports. Treatment should be tailored to the unique
needs of each child and family.
