Parent to Parent Teacher of the Year
Jim Drey, Fairlawn, OH
Jim Drey was certified as a Parent to Parent Teacher in the
fall of 2007. Since then he has taught classes in the Akron, Ohio
area and has become a frequent online presenter for CHADD. With a
background as a corporate trainer and as an adult with ADHD, Jim’s
classes are full of lively discussion. In between classes Jim
facilitates an email discussion that allows all the class participants
to continue their exchanges of ideas and support for one another - but
Jim doesn’t stop there. On several occasions, Jim has come
to the P2P certification trainings to help out with all the behind the
scenes organizing. When one of our online teachers had to bow out
at the very last minute, Jim came to the rescue and took over in the
class with almost no notice. Whenever the CHADD P2P staff has an
unexpected emergency, we know we can turn to Jim.
Fran Parker, West Bloomfield,
MI
Fran was certified in 2004 and has been teaching Parent to Parent
classes in Michigan since then. Her local classes are in
such demand that she often has a waiting list. As both a parent
and a psychologist, Fran brings multiple levels of expertise to her
classes. Recently she has joined our ranks of online teachers and
gets rave reviews from the participants. But Fran shares so much
more. When she develops materials for a presentation about ADHD,
she freely shares them with CHADD and the other P2P teachers. She
has been a volunteer on CHADD’s national membership workgroup for
many years, and continues to be a highly effective local
coordinator.
