Director of Meetings and Events
National association seeks candidates for Director of Meetings and
Events to oversee our national conference, regional conferences, board
meetings and other smaller events. Looking for a dynamic, bright,
problem solver, who is in tune with marketing in a social networking and
viral world. Attention to detail, creativity and willingness to do what
it takes to make our events a success are necessary attributes.
Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing is needed. Knowledge
of ADHD and/or mental health issues is a plus.

Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree; preference will be given to
individuals who are Certified Meeting Professionals (CMP).
- 7+ years hands-on experience in meeting planning and trade show
experience, with the majority of time at the national level with events
with more than 1,000 attendees.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Expert proficiency in managing and using databases, including report
generation and queries. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM is a
major asset.
- Experience with website content management.
- Travel required (5%) with an expectation that some critical work
will take place outside normal working hours.
- Demonstrated expertise and success in marketing events through
various media, including social networking and email marketing.
- Experience as a staff supervisor, and team builder.
- Experience recruiting, managing and supporting volunteers.
Background Info
CHADD is the nation's premier association providing education,
advocacy and support for individuals with
attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorders (ADHD). More than 15 million
people in the US have ADHD. This brain disorder is marked by severe
problems with attention, impulsivity and hyperactivity.
Our offices are located in Landover, MD, right outside Washington,
DC. We have a national staff of 25 and more than a 1,000 volunteers.
Activities include membership, local support groups, parent training
programs, teacher training programs, conferences, advocacy,
Attention magazine, and the nation's National Resource Center
on ADHD.
