Academic and Life Success Through Coaching for Adolescents and Young Adults with ADHD: A panel of experienced coaches who specialize in coaching teens and young adults will share their expertise and varied approaches to helping these clients build the executive function skills necessary for independence. Coaching for adolescents and young adults with ADHD, while very complex, highly individualized, and intricate, provides exceptional support for reaching success in academics and life. An intimate view of this relationship and the vaired interactions that the coach and client experience in various scenarios will be included as part of the discussion.
Learning Objectives:Academic and Life Success Through Coaching for Adolescents and Young Adults with ADHD: 1. To discuss how coaching serves teens and young adults and helps them to build life skills critical to living an independent and balanced life. 2. To provide an intimate picture through numerous scenarios of the complex nature of coaching this population. 3. To illustrate different tools and strategies that facilitate building meaningful rapport with this specific population and help to customize coaching for young people. 4. To familiarize the audience with how coaching styles and client skills evolve over the course of the coach/client relationship. 5. To discuss different means of determining success of the coaching process when the definition of “success” is very individualized.
