This presentation will demonstrate three workshop programs that were designed by Fairfax County Public Schools (VA). The workshops are: 1) a currently working on three-part series on Classroom Basics in ADHD, Academic Strategies with ADHD, and Behavioral Strategies with ADHD, and 2) a powerpoint workshop with a popular video "ADHD Teens Talk" for training in secondary schools, and 3) a workshop on Executive Functioning. These workshops will be explained by the presenters and attendees will be able to bring these programs back to their schools for training purposes.
Learning Objectives:School Training Programs in ADHD and Executive Functioning: 1. Will have a better understanding of the variability of difficulties that children with ADHD face. 2. Will learn directly from teens with ADHD and experienced teachers the positive factors that influence success in school. 3. Will increase their knowledge about the value of working closely with parents to form a partnership for student learning. 4. Will have concrete training programs from this workshop that they will be able to share with their school staff. 5. Will learn how school staff, community professionals, and parents can form a training partnership to provide low cost training in their schools.
