2009 Young Scientist Research Fund Awards
PROJECT UPDATE, MARCH
24, 2009: Due to unexpected cutbacks in corporate support, CHADD
announces that two (2) Young Scientist Research Fund Awards will be
given this year. CHADD regrets this change and hopes to continue to
support the Young Scientist Research Fund Award program in the
future.
Congratulations to our 2008 Award
Recipients!
CHADD's Young Scientist Research Fund Awards
recognize young researchers who are making contributions to the
understanding of AD/HD. Through the Fund, CHADD will
support three researchers with an unrestricted cash award of $5,000
each, recognition at the 2009 CHADD 21st Annual
International Conference and an allowance to cover conference
attendance (travel, hotel, registration), plus a one-year CHADD
professional membership.
Applicants must be in the process of completing a doctoral degree or
must have completed such a degree within the last three years. Research
may address any area relevant to AD/HD, including, but not limited to:
biological/genetic underpinnings of the disorder; treatment efficacy;
impact on the individual or family; school or workplace accommodations;
social stigma and discrimination; public health; and epidemiology.
The awards are supported through generous funding from McNeil
Pediatrics Division of Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and by
a number of individual donations. CHADD is grateful to all contributors
to the Young Scientist Research Fund.
Deadline for completed applications for the 2009
awards is April 8,
2009.
