- $50 for each participating family
- Free written evaluation of your child's intellectual ability,
academic achievement, and social-emotional development
Each family will be asked to visit UCLA for one 3-4 hour visit. The
parent(s) and child will be assessed separately using structured
interviews, rating scales, and standardized tests of memory, problem
solving, and academic achievement. Teachers will also be asked to
provide ratings of child behavior. Each parent and child will also be
asked to provide saliva for DNA extraction and analysis. The objective
of the study is to understand how genetic and environmental factors
influence ADHD and related behavior.
Entrance Requirements:
- Child 6-9 years old and lives with a biological parent at least
half-time
- Child with no seizures, mental retardation, autism, or serious
neurological disorder
- Biological parent and child must be fluent in English
