Anne Teeter Ellison, EdD
Speaker and Developer of CHADD Educators' In-Service
Dr. Teeter Ellison is Professor Emeritus of Educational
Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and served as the
Training Director of the School Psychology Doctoral Program. She has
published numerous articles and book chapters on developmental
interventions for AD/HD, and the assessment and treatment of
neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disorders of childhood and
adolescents. As a consultant to the Wisconsin AD/HD Project, Dr. Teeter
Ellison also co-authored several handbooks for training professionals in
the assessment and educational diagnosis of AD/HD, and for developing
effective multimodal interventions for school settings. Dr. Teeter
Ellison joined the Board of Directors of CHADD in 2002, and is currently
the CHADD National President.
Chris Zeigler Dendy , MS
Speaker and Developer of CHADD Educators' In-Service
Ms. Dendy is a former classroom teacher, school psychologist, and
mental health counselor and administrator, as well as a speaker and
published author with over 40 years of experience in this field. She is
also a former CHADD National Board member. Ms. Dendy is a highly
sought-after speaker on education and AD/HD and is the principal author
and editor of the CHADD Educator's Manual (which will be the
backbone of information for the in-service).
Joan Helbing
Speaker and Developer of CHADD Educators' In-Service
Joan Helbing is a veteran educator and the regional AD/HD consultant
with the Appleton area school district in Wisconsin. She has been a
classroom teacher, diagnostician and support person for 32 years in the
areas of learning, cognitive and emotional/behavioral disabilities. She
is a coordinator for the Appleton Area CHADD support group and a former
member of the CHADD National Board of Directors. She served as the
co-chair of the CHADD Educator’s Manual committee and is
the mother of two daughters with AD/HD.
